Project “VOCES ADENTRO” (Voices Within)
A space to rescue truth, provide context, and connect generations
“Voces Adentro” is a live-streamed audiovisual series broadcast across the social media platforms of Voces de Cuba(@vocesdecuba on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and others). Hosted by journalist and activist Janisset Rivero, the program offers a space for analysis, historical memory, and conversation from the perspective of the Cuban exile community, with a strong component of real-time interaction with the audience.
In each broadcast, Janisset reacts to excerpts from interviews in the Voces de Cuba archive, providing historical context, political interpretation, and human reflections on the protagonists and events that have shaped the struggle for freedom on the island. The program also features special guests, who enrich the discussion with their testimonies, knowledge, or personal experiences.
“Voces Adentro” seeks to be a bridge between generations—between silenced history and present-day resistance. We have already tackled topics such as the repression of Cuba’s student movement and the loss of university autonomy, drawing parallels between today’s situation and the student movements that once challenged Machado, Batista, and later, the Castro regime.
This program is more than a live stream: it is a tool for civic education, a living oral archive, and an act of cultural resistance. Its accessible, live format allows it to reach diverse audiences—especially young people—both inside and outside of Cuba, contributing to a more informed and engaged citizenry.
With the support of strategic partners and financial backing, we can scale up its production, expand its reach, and sustain this vital space for truth, memory, and freedom.
